The Vine Avenue Block Party, held annually for off-campus students as part of Student Activities' PC3 initiative, was hosted Thursday night by Penn College's three Community Assistants (Kattie Heisey, Kyle Mabry and Corey Shank). The Cell Block's Zack Lee was guest DJ, and participants were treated to pizza, wings and kegs of birch beer.

"Night of 1,000 Games Part 2" took place Wednesday at Rose Street Commons, where more than 200 students played Plinko and took part in an obstacle course to try to win an LCD TV. To qualify, participants had to throw a ringer in horseshoes, get a washer in the box and toss a ping-pong ball into a cup.

About 350 people attended the fifth annual Fall FIESTA (Friends, Involvement, Employment and Socializing on a Tuesday Afternoon) from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on the ATHS mall. Sixty-five vendors representing campus organizations and offices offering involvement and employment opportunities, community agencies and churches were on hand to enlighten participants.

The dog days of summer took on a new meeting at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Aug. 18, when a unique icebreaker united first-year students with employees and their dogs. Held on the Rose Street Commons, "Hot Dog, You're Here!" provided the opportunity for faculty and staff to welcome and engage new students over the common ground of pet ownership, conversation and free food.

Pennsylvania College of Technology again was a home-field favorite with its community outreach for the start of the Little League Baseball World Series. A college-hosted cookout for the 16 series teams – as well as coaches, team uncles, umpires and other guests – was held on the lawn outside the Bush Campus Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology officially opened its arms to first-year and transfer students during Welcome Weekend on Aug. 14-15. On Saturday, students moved into on- and off-campus housing and made final preparations for Monday's start of classes.

In a dual celebration two years in the making, a ribbon-cutting for Penn College's new plastics wing and the christening of the Thermoforming Center of Excellence  were held April 6-7 in the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology conducted its Summer Commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Tammy M. Bergquist, of Montoursville, awarded an associate degree in radiography, was the day's student speaker. More than 230 degrees were conferred by college President Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied by Lynda M.

Nearly 300 high school students from across the commonwealth are on Penn College's main campus through Saturday for the latest session of Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week, at which loaned executives share their business acumen with rising (and highly motivated) high school juniors.

A commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, for more than 230 students at Pennsylvania College of Technology who have petitioned to graduate after the summer sessions. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Tammy M. Bergquist, of Montoursville, has been selected as the student speaker for the ceremony.
