Gathering with their mentors in a Penn College welding lab, SMART Girls show off their handiwork. Fifty-seven girls from Jersey Shore Area, Milton Area, Montoursville Area and Southern Tioga school districts visited campus Monday during a SMART Girls session for middle schoolers.

Esther Bauer, a Holocaust survivor who speaks to students whenever possible so they will “learn what happened and see to it that it never happens again,” will visit Pennsylvania College of Technology on April 9. Her free presentation, to be held at 7 p.m. in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium, is sponsored by the college’s Student Activities Office. The public is welcome.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Madigan Library, will host “Worlds Collide,” featuring paintings by Merrill Steiger, from March 19 to April 18. The exhibit is informed by Steiger’s belief that there is a cosmic energy permeating everything, whether it be a rock, an amoeba or a galaxy.

Before students leave campus for a weeklong Spring Break, a variety of helpful offices collaborated to provide tips on safety, sobriety and sanity during their time away from classes.

The sweet artistry of 11 Pennsylvania College of Technology students brought a touch of spring to campus Thursday: an annual cake competition sponsored by CalJava International. The students, all enrolled in an advanced cake-decorating course taught by Suzann L.

An Open House on Saturday, March 23, offers prospective students and families an opportunity to explore Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diverse “degrees that work” while touring the modern campus and participating in an array of activities. Open House will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Representatives from six of Pennsylvania College of Technology's academic schools, as well as student organizations, high school classmates and outside vendors, offered a variety of  hands-on activities that both enlightened and entertained attendees at Wednesday's Science Festival for elementary and middle school pupils.

In April, the Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer a free session on the main campus in Williamsport to help students, prospective students and families complete the 2013-14 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Registration is open for the second annual Wildcat Comic Con, to be held Saturday, Sept. 28, on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. Formulation of the programming schedule is well under way, and a number of last year's presenters have already signed on to return.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's annual "Happy Hour," which encourages students to make sound decisions during and after Spring Break, will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Penn's Inn.
