Two student groups at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently donated more than $4,000 to a scholarship fund that will help future students. The Penn College chapter of Enactus, formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise, donated $2,282 to the Small Business/Entrepreneurship Scholarship, while students in a Business Planning and Operations class donated $1,779 to the fund.

Two students in baking, pastry and culinary arts majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology were selected by faculty to receive the “Award of Excellence,” which included an educational trip to the National Restaurant Association’s 2014 NRA Show. The May graduates, Amy E. Lynn, who earned an associate degree in baking and pastry arts, and Lewis D.

Terry A. Girdon, professor of business administration/management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was elected to a three-year term on the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education’s Board of Commissioners. Girdon will serve as the board’s public member.

The School of Business & Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently hosted its Culinary and Pastry Experience, allowing students in baking, pastry and culinary arts majors to showcase their final projects for the college community and industry judges. Distinguished Staff Awards and related honors were presented at ceremonies commemorating Employee Recognition Week at Pennsylvania College of Technology. In addition to Distinguished Staff Awards, Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour bestowed awards for Excellence in Academic Advising and Part-Time Teaching Excellence.

Early Educators Club provides "Bibs for Babies." Penn College students' handmade help accepted at local high school. Through a "Bibs for Babies" project, three members of Penn College's Early Educators Club delivered handmade bibs and burp cloths to a parenting class at Williamsport Area High School.
