Those who assume responsibility for cleaning up the commonwealth's roads under the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Adopt-a-Highway program – and more than 3,500 volunteers have signed on for stewardship of nearly 8,000 miles to date – generally have their commendable hands full tending to litter pickup alone.

Kenneth F. Healy, executive vice president and director of engineering at PMF Industries Inc., received an Alumni of the Year Award during the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Education Celebration on Thursday evening. The event, held this year at the Bald Birds Brewing Co.

Robert L. Norton – an alumnus, retired faculty member and father of a program director in the School of Nursing & Health Sciences – died Friday, March 19, 2021, at the age of 90. He received a certificate from the former Williamsport Technical Institute and an associate degree from Williamsport Area Community College, and was an aviation instructor at WACC and Penn College for 24 years.
