The college's Wildcat mascot goes "green," opting for a reusable takeout container from the Keystone Dining Room. Noelle B. Bloom, Dining Services assistant director II, registers Ashley C. Adams, an early childhood education major from Lewistown, during Fall Fiesta. Reusable carry-out food containers are available in a pilot program at two campus dining units.

Last week, the fall sports season ended for the Pennsylvania College of Technology soccer teams. This week, seasons should conclude for its women’s volleyball and cross-country squads while the wrestling team steps into action for the first time.

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced the members of the All-American and All-Academic teams Thursday night at the men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball championship banquets. Pennsylvania College of Technology teams represented well, with 20 student-athletes getting an honor.

The dean of health sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently completed a doctorate from Trident University International. Sharon K. Waters received a doctorate in educational leadership in June.

As education news buzzes about the cost for state colleges and universities to provide developmental courses to help high school graduates prepare for college-level classes, two local school districts are pairing with Pennsylvania College of Technology to help ensure their students are ready for college mathematics.

UGI Utilities Inc., a company serving more than 648,000 natural gas and electric customers in northern, eastern and central Pennsylvania, has established a scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The UGI Utilities Scholarship will provide annual awards of $1,000, beginning in the fall of 2013, to distinguished students while the fund is building to fully endowed status.
