Red Cross Bloodmobile More than 150 pints of blood were collected by the American Red Cross during last week's two-day visit to Penn's Inn, according to figures shared by Penn College Health Services. Each of the 156 units donated (75 on Wednesday and 81 on Thursday) has the potential to save three lives, so as many as 468 patients benefited from the Bloodmobile turnout.

Renewing a tradition that makes veterans’ advocacy a year-round priority, four active and former military personnel are providing front-line assistance to their fellow students at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Visiting Chef Kristi Ritchey, a 2002 Pennsylvania College of Technology culinary arts technology graduate and executive chef of Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop’s four Los Angeles-area restaurants, worked closely with students for three days to produce Friday’s Visiting Chef Dinner. The elegant dinner raises funds for scholarships and provides opportunities for students to work alongside top chefs.

The Penn College Martial Arts Club traveled to West Chester University on Saturday to participate in its first East Coast Collegiate Karate Union tournament. The college was represented by Alexander J. Hilton, Lewis C. Muya, Eric M. Russell and Kenneth P. McGullam, who all competed well, according to head coach George Vance.

On this Veterans Day, we salute the students, faculty and staff who have served (or continue to serve) their country. Members of the Pennsylvania College of Technology community are encouraged to honor with gratitude the military service of these co-workers and classmates, who are among those we recognize through this voluntary honor roll.

"Ultimate sacrifice" honored Tables, each set for one and honoring all branches of the U.S. military, have again been placed at various campus  locations in honor of fallen and missing military personnel.
