Two Pennsylvania College of Technology students were recently awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute.  Michael J. Boylston, of Carmel, N.Y., and Jeffrey C. Comitz, of Hughesville, both enrolled in the four-year heating, ventilation and air conditioning design technology major, are among the 2013-14 recipients of the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Jr.

A "Cultural Immersion" trip to Washington, D.C., over Spring Break acquainted Penn College students with the smorgasbord of issues, art, food and ethnicity in the nation's capital.

In order to inform students and the general public about their health care options under the Affordable Care Act, Counseling Services at Pennsylvania College of Technology is sponsoring a program titled “Demystifying the Health Insurance Marketplace and Healthcare Reform” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.

Students and the community are welcome to attend the first financial literacy program at Pennsylvania College of Technology on April 10. The event is being organized and hosted by several student organizations, most in the college’s School of Business & Hospitality.

Sharon A. Berger A better understanding of food labels awaits attendees of the Spring 2014 Madigan Library Forum, at which Penn College's registered dietician will discuss how to effectively read labels to make healthy choices and fit likable foods into daily meals and snacks. Sharon A. Berger's presentation, "Eating Your Way to Wellness Through Label Reading," will be held from noon-1 p.m.

Jessica Gmerek Zachary Buterbaugh Junior baseball player Zachary Buterbaugh, of Conestoga, and freshman softball player Jessica Gmerek, of Bellefonte, were named Penn State University Athletic Conference "Hitters of the Week" for the period ending March 16.  As both players competed for their respective teams during a Spring Break tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Buterbaugh hit an impressive .57

Career Fairs this week gave Penn College students and alumni invaluable access to more than 180 employers representing nearly 2,100 job and internship opportunities. This semester’s Career Services-sponsored events were from 9 a.m.-noon Monday in the ATHS lobby for health sciences majors; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday in Bardo Gym for all majors; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Ten Penn College representatives traveled to Yonkers, N.Y., over Spring Break to work with Habitat for Humanity to install insulation on three houses that will be used by veterans when completed later this spring.
