Vinay Bahl, associate professor of sociology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been invited by the State University of New York Press to review and evaluate a book manuscript for possible publication. The manuscript deals with informal workers in India and their struggles. Bahl says informal workers comprise the majority of India’s labor force.

Students in a Catering course at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer cooking demonstrations – and free samples – at the Williamsport Growers Market’s annual “Customer Appreciation Day” on Sept. 19. The students will prepare a variety of recipes using fresh, local ingredients donated by the market’s vendors. They’ll serve samples beginning at 8 a.m.
Twenty-eight students are serving as Presidential Student Ambassadors for the 2015-16 academic year at Pennsylvania College of Technology, marking the 20th year student ambassadors have been spreading good will on campus.
