Five student teams from Pennsylvania College of Technology battled it out Oct. 8 at the Williamsport Growers Market, using the best ingredients – fresh and locally produced – to determine the best student chefs of the morning. The two-man team of Cy C. Heller and R. Colby Janowitz were the top finishers in a tough competition. It was not the students’ first exposure to culinary competition.

Students enrolled in natural sciences courses at Pennsylvania College of Technology will benefit from a recent donation of a PeakSimple 2000 gas chromatograph by Al Silkroski, president and chief executive officer of Hilltop Enterprises, based in West Chester.

Openings remain for a 15-day Ready-to-Work Field Service Worker and Roustabout Training program offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The short-term, full-time training – which runs from Nov. 14 to Dec. 6 – prepares participants to work in the following industry sectors: energy, construction, warehousing/logistics and manufacturing.

Two construction management majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology attended the recent Women in Construction Leadership Seminar at Kiewit Corp.’s headquarters in Omaha, Neb. Lauren S. Penn College dental hygiene students are applying their extensive hands-on skills in a newly renovated clinic. The 5,300-square-foot facility, dedicated in late September and featured in a video on college's YouTube channel, features advanced technology and continues the college's tradition of offering low-cost dental care to the community."The clinic has made an amazing transformation.
