Pennsylvania College of Technology announced winners of its Spring Food Show, a showcase of food artistry and expertise by students in the college’s hospitality majors.

Renowned golf entertainer, trick-shot artist and World Long Drive champion Dan Boever will headline the Penn College Foundation’s 31st Annual Golf Classic on June 19 at the Williamsport Country Club.

Plant production students at Penn College are at the forefront of the "buy local, eat fresh" movement, thanks to the hydroponic garden at the college's Schneebeli Earth Science Center. As assistant professor of horticulture Dennis P. Skinner explains, their cross-curricular collaboration culminates in the dishes crafted by culinary arts students in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on campus.

Over the past weekend, the season ended for the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team while it was extended for the baseball squad. Softball Competing Friday and Saturday in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships, the Wildcats went 1-2 in their second season under coach Jackie Klahold to complete a 21-13 overall campaign, 17-8 in all NEAC games.

Businesspeople who desire to build their client relationship competence could benefit from a two-day noncredit course scheduled on successive Wednesdays in June by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology. “Enhancing Client Relationship Skills: Creating Win-Win Situations” will be offered from 9 a.m.

A pair of multi-session programs, to be offered by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, are designed to develop supervisory skills. The Penn College Front Line Leadership program focuses on meeting the unique challenges faced by front-line supervisors. Each course, to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chef Virginia Willis, an acclaimed food writer, James Beard Award winner and editor at-large for Southern Living, arrived Thursday and paused for a photo with Chef Charles R. Niedermyer, instructor of baking and pastry arts/culinary arts. Students assigned to “The Mansion,” an exclusive Churchill Downs venue that attracts the rich and famous, will work alongside Willis.
