The American Welding Society's premier digital news source, the site is designed to provide thousands of welders and allied professionals with news and information related to the welding/fabrication industry.
The coronavirus has taken Pennsylvania College of Technology players off the field, but it hasn’t stopped them from playing and having fun as a “Virtual Catch” Facebook video posted by softball coach Angie Hunley is going viral. Within three hours of its posting Saturday, the compilation had more than 6,000 views and, in less than 24 hours, that number had grown to over 27,000.
Pennsylvania College of Technology students, guided by a quick-thinking faculty mentor in partnership with the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, are providing a true community service: facilitating online ordering pages for businesses still permitted to operate during the coronavirus pandemic.
Clay County (Florida) Habitat for Humanity welcomed Pennsylvania College of Technology students and advisers earlier this month for a service-oriented alternative spring break. The group volunteered through Collegiate Challenge, which, for more than a quarter-century, has engaged high school and college students in construction of safe and affordable housing throughout the country.
Penn College's planned April 4 "Service Saturday" – a dental hygiene outreach to veterans, active-duty service personnel and their dependents – has been canceled.

Spring Open House, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, has been canceled, as are general Tuesday/Thursday campus tours through the remainder of the spring semester. Additional Exploration Days have been scheduled for May 29; June 27; July 8, 15 and 25; and Aug. 10. (The Exploration Day scheduled for April 24 has been canceled.)
A week that began with high hopes for Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, came to an abrupt end with Thursday’s announcement that the remainder of their seasons – and all of the college’s spring sports including all scheduled action in the North Eastern Athletic Conference – have been canceled for the rest of the academic year. Facing the same "avalanche of closings and cancellations" spawned by Gov. Tom Wolf's directive on public events, the Community Arts Center has announced several changes to its schedule. The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra concert scheduled for Saturday, March 14, has been rescheduled for June 6. Tower of Power on March 18 has been postponed to Oct. 4.
