The next accomplished chef slated to work with students as part of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Visiting Chef Series has traveled internationally to share his skills, but, in November, he will mentor budding chefs in his hometown. Penn College played host to the fifth annual Pennsylvania Statewide Project Grass Conference on Oct. 20-21. The event offered informative seminars for farmers and marketers involved with grazing and selling grass-fed products.

Members of the business community toured the Madigan Library on Thursday evening as part of a PM Exchange. PM Exchanges offered by the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce are networking events providing chamber members, business leaders and dignitaries the opportunity to socialize and discuss issues.

A major construction and construction materials firm has established a scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The Haines and Kibblehouse Family of Companies, also known as The H&K Group, will provide an annual award of $1,000 beginning in the current academic year. The company plans to endow the scholarship, making it a permanent source of awards for students.

Penn College's Horticulture Club has donated $425 to the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" effort. The student organization based at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center and advised by horticulture faculty member Carl J. Bower sold individual flowers and contributed $5 from each floral arrangement sold during a recent breast-cancer awareness observance.

Bridget M. McCall , a nursing major from Media, has been chosen by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Government Association as "Student of the Month" for October.
