An alumnus is giving back to Pennsylvania College of Technology by establishing a new scholarship fund at the college. Nathan J. Snavely, of Berwick, a 2000 graduate of Penn College's business administration bachelor-degree major, has established the Nathan J. Snavely Achievement in Business Scholarship Fund.
The 2007-08 Governance election results have been officially counted and were certified by College Council. As in the past, votes were only counted within employee work groups (i.e. Integrated Studies faculty could only vote for Integrated Studies faculty or faculty-at-large positions).
"Meet the Wildcats Night," an opportunity to get acquainted with the student-athletes and coaches of the men's baseball, women's softball, men's volleyball and archery teams, was held Wednesday at the Field House. Free hot dogs and soda were served, door prizes were awarded, and home schedules and rosters for each team were distributed to interested fans.
The American Red Cross and Student Health Services were "ecstatic" with the turnout for Wednesday's Bloodmobile at the Bush Campus Center, where a total of 193 individuals registered to give blood and 174 pints were collected exceeding the 170-pint goal. There were 50 first-time donors, and every pint collected goes to saving another life.
Penn College Police are urging students, faculty and staff to protect personal and college property after a series of recent on-campus thefts. Items including purses, briefcases and laptop computers have been stolen from offices, classrooms and apartments left unlocked or propped open while unoccupied. Please pay attention to your surroundings.

A regional computer fair for middle- and high-school students from 19 area districts, sponsored by BLaST Intermediate Unit 17, was held Monday and Tuesday at Penn College. Students competed in categories including Web-page design, desktop publishing, logo design, digital moviemaking and graphic design.
During the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children's annual conference, held March 31 on Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus, the group named a Lycoming/Clinton Head Start teacher and Penn College alumna its "2007 Outstanding Early Educator." The honor was awarded to Debbie Kennedy, of Williamsport, who works in Lycoming/Clinton Head Start's Becht No.
Five Pennsylvania College of Technology students earned gold medals at the recent Pennsylvania SkillsUSA Conference, qualifying them for national competition from June 26-29 in Kansas City, Mo. They were among the 12 Penn College competitors who returned with medals from the statewide competition, which was held March 28-30 at the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute in Allentown.
Students enrolled in "Theories of Personality and Psychotherapy"stand in front of the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, where they ventured Saturday to view the current exhibit titled "Home & Beast." The museum, in operation since 1995, features the works of self-taught artists, many of whom struggled with psychological maladies at some time in their lives.
