Danielle M. Young, 27, of Lock Haven, a student in the associate-degree nursing major at Penn College, died Tuesday. College President Davie Jane Gilmour presented Young with her nursing degree in a special ceremony on May 24 attended by nursing faculty and staff and Young's family and friends.

Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted its seventh annual residential SMART Girls (Science and Math Applications in Real World Technologies for Girls) program July 15-18. Twenty-five girls participated in the program, which is for young women entering ninth and 10th grades.

The lead faculty member in Pennsylvania College of Technology's diesel equipment technology department has been honored by the college and Caterpillar Inc. with the annual "Pathfinder to Excellence" award. William P.

The "Summer Birds" from Penn College's Children's Learning Center visited the Paramedic Lab on Tuesday. They were able to see what a paramedic does, got their heart rate and blood pressure checked, got inside a real ambulance, and took turns being the patient or the paramedic. ( Photos by Regina G. On Thursday, 20 incoming Penn College students completed the five-week Summer PLUS 2007 program offered by Academic Support Services. In addition to taking a math, English or reading noncredit course, the students were involved in college-preparation activities such as Project Success, introduction-to-computers classes and library workshops.

Members and guests of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce visited Penn College's newest addition Thursday night: the Center for Business & Workforce Development. The 32,000-square-foot building at 1127 W.

Five Saudi Arabian students from Penn College's English as a Second Language class met children at the Children's Learning Center on Wednesday morning to practice pronunciation skills and experience interacting with American children. The students explored the children's classroom and had an opportunity for play with the youngsters. The ESL students also read books to the children.
