Steven R. Parker, instructor of environmental technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will present a Library Forum program on Oct. 23 describing his experiences helping American Indian tribes nationwide fight "agroterrorism" the intentional attempt to compromise the country's food supply. The session, which will be presented from 4 to 5 p.m.
The second annual International Reception was held Tuesday in Penn's Inn. More than 60 people attended, including students, faculty and staff. The group enjoyed a meal catered by Le Jeune Chef and shared stories of home. Students from Saudi Arabia explained their culture and way of dressing; attendees also heard from Japanese visitors on campus this week from Tsuyama National Technical College.
Pennsylvania College of Technology has entered into a clinical-affiliation agreement with Susquehanna Health for the 2007-08 academic year that provides for use of the hospitals' radiology departments for the clinical practicum of students enrolled in the college's associate-degree radiography major.
Students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality recently catered the 18th Annual Gourmet Harvest Festival at Hunt Country Vineyards in Branchport, N.Y., and on Oct. 13, they joined the staff of the Penn Stater Hotel at the Penn State-Wisconsin game. The students are enrolled in a catering class taught by Chef Michael J.
In an effort to showcase Penn College student-athletes, the Athletics Department has instituted Senior Day for all 15 varsity sports. Seniors on the women's soccer team were honored Saturday, Oct. 13, at halftime of their game, and women's volleyball seniors were honored Monday, Oct. 15, before the start of their match.
