When Chris Howard took over the reins of the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball program two years ago, as a former major-league player he had a vast knowledge of the game as a player, but not much as a coach. Clifford P. Coppersmith has been named dean of integrated studies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Coppersmith had been assistant dean of integrated studies-liberal arts. He assumed his new responsibilities Aug. 18.

With Food Services preparing a free hot-dog lunch nearby, a stream of students competed in Microreality Racing on the LEC Patio on Tuesday. Just one of the many Student Activities events planned for this first week of the fall semester, the attraction allowed racers tomanuever radio-controlled replicas of race cars around a trailer-mounted oval track.

Sixty Pennsylvania College of Technology students have joined other area medical staff to help with the Little League Baseball World Series through Aug. 24. Students enrolled in the emergency medical services and physician assistant programs at Penn College are volunteering throughout the series.
