Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a Summer 2026 Commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Journey Bank Community Arts Center, Williamsport.
More than 150 students have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology following the Summer 2026 sessions.
A commencement ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Journey Bank Community Arts Center, with 102 students expected to march in the proceedings. The ceremony is for graduates and ticketed guests. A livestream broadcast will be offered on the college’s commencement website.
The student speaker is Caitlin M. Forsgren, of Williamsport, who will receive a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. She will also receive the President’s Award, presented for leadership and service to the college, as well as the UPMC Program Award for Physician Assistant, presented to a graduate who has exhibited strong leadership and teamwork skills and has demonstrated excellence, professionalism and commitment to the healthcare profession, as well as academic excellence.
Forsgren is a Dean’s List student. She served as president of the Physician Assistant Club and was a member of the White Coat Ceremony Committee. Her clinical experiences included general surgery at numerous Geisinger locations, pediatrics at UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics in York, emergency medicine at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, women’s health at Geisinger St. Luke’s Specialty Services in Orwigsburg, family medicine at UPMC Primary Care at Pine Street in Williamsport, internal medicine at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital in Jersey Shore, psychiatry at the Federal Correctional Complex in Allenwood and the United States Penitentiary in Lewisburg, and dermatology at Brevard Medical Dermatology in Viera, Florida. Forsgren received a bachelor’s degree in integrative animal biology – human track at University of South Florida.
Stephen E. Griegel, recipient of the Penn College Distinguished Alumni Award, will also share remarks during the ceremony.
Griegel, of Ellijay, Georgia, graduated from Penn College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in information technology: security specialist concentration. He also earned two IT associate degrees: network technology emphasis and technical support technology emphasis. Griegel is the security solution leader for the Americas within the Accenture Microsoft Business Group, helping organizations operate securely in the age of artificial intelligence.
Griegel is a member of the Alumni Tomorrow Makers Program and recently participated in a virtual networking event for current Penn College IT students.
President Michael J. Reed will confer degrees upon the graduates. Remarks from the Penn College Board of Directors will be provided by Vice Chair M. Abraham Harpster.
