The men's and women's soccer teams split their midweek conference matchups before closing the week with victories, while men's golf finished third at the United East Conference Fall Preview.

Board approves 2027-28 state budget request parameters, emeritus status, leadership appointments, and welcomes new board members

During an Oct. 8 meeting at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center, the Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors approved parameters for the college's 2027-28 state budget request, granted emeritus status to longtime board member John Young, welcomed new board members and approved Rachel Smith as interim vice president for People & Culture. The board also elected officers and heard updates on shared governance, investments and new faculty.

Penn College Dining Services provides some of the best college food in Pennsylvania, according to Niche, a college search website that provides profiles on every college in the U.S., as well as reviews and ratings. Penn College ranked fourth in the state on the site’s 2027 Best College Food list.

Penn College Board of Directors welcomes three new members

Three new members have begun service on Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors. The new directors are Robert Fenza, a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees; Ken Healy, executive vice president and director of engineering for PMF Industries Inc.; and Tracie L. Witter, key account manager for PPL Electric Utilities.

Young granted ‘director emeritus’ status at Penn College

A longtime Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors member was granted “director emeritus” status at the board’s Oct. 8 meeting. The board voted to approve the designation for John M. Young, who has served the college in various volunteer positions for 40 years, including more than 20 years on the Board of Directors before he retired from the position in June.

Penn College team overcomes adversity at Baja SAE Ohio

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s team proved resilient in overcoming early adversity to place 20th out of 70 cars in the premier event at a recent international competition in Nashport, Ohio. Baja SAE Ohio required schools to design and build a single-seat all-terrain car to withstand several tests that challenge students’ ingenuity and vehicle quality.

Pre-Health Plunge Program gives students a head start

Ten students participated in a residential Pre-Health Plunge Program this summer that provided foundational human anatomy and physiology content, introduced them to campus support services and offered opportunities to build rapport with a cohort of peers.

Pennsylvania Sen. Scott Martin (13th Senate District) visited the college on Thursday to tour its labs and learn more about its unique hands-on education model. Martin is chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and helped to author the law that created the Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program to encourage more young people to pursue careers in high-demand industries.
