Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball teams went a combined 1-3 over the past week.

With a roster that includes a three-time All-East Team honoree among four key returnees and a program-record 25 freshmen loaded with talent, Pennsylvania College of Technology archery coach Dustin Bartron has plenty of reason for optimism. The Wildcats are scheduled to open their season on Saturday at the Easton Collegiate Tournament in Manheim.

Competing in the Florida Sunshine Shootout at Daytona Beach, Florida, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team was winless in the program’s first trip that far from home.

With a two-victory week that extended its win streak to five games, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team moved into rare company. Also, three wrestlers reached the podium at the Wilkes Open. This week, while other teams enjoy the holiday and semester break, the men’s basketball squad opts for warmer weather as it competes Saturday and Sunday in the Florida Sunshine Shootout at Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Cupboard, the Penn College pantry for students who need food assistance, is available over the holiday break. Dining Services provides the following hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thurs. Dec. 17, walk-in access is available; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 6-10, students can email The Cupboard to make an appointment; and 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11-12, students can visit The Wildcat Express for assistance.

During a week when fall semester finals wrapped up, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team was the only one to see action as it stayed unbeaten in United East Conference play. This week, women’s basketball and wrestling are on the docket.
