The Heavy Construction Equipment faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently selected student award winners for the school year. Ryan W. Peck, Montoursville, received the "Operator of the Year Award" and Craig M. Plowman, Cooperstown, received the "Mechanic of the Year Award." Benjamin H.

George R. Roles, a student in the Legal Assistant/Paralegal program at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been awarded a $3,500 scholarship in a competition sponsored by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations and West Group.

Responding to a need for more College-owned-and-operated student housing, Pennsylvania College of Technology has agreed to purchase College West Apartments from HFL Corp. of State College. The sale, which should become final on or before June 7, will increase the number of beds in Penn College's student-housing program to over 1,000.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students and alumni will be able to meet with recruiters from nearly 100 prospective employers over two days at Career Expos scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, and Thursday, March 16. The March 14 event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Earth Science Center, 12 miles south of the main campus on Route 15 near Allenwood.

The National Residence Hall Honorary at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently held its inaugural induction ceremony, honoring nine students as founding members and another student and a college employee as honorary members of the organization.

All eight students from Pennsylvania College of Technology who participated in the recent SkillsUSA-VICA District 6 competition came away with gold medals for their first-place finishes. The eight winners from Penn College will move on to the state SkillsUSA-VICA competition, which will be held April 12-14 in Lancaster.
