The Student Activities Office is introducing a new program: Commuter Pit Stops. This program is intended to provide opportunities for commuter students (but ALL students are welcome!) to pick up information about college programs and resources, as well as enjoy some entertainment.

Through an agreement with the Williamsport YWCA, 815 W. Fourth St., Penn College students havefree access to the facilities, including the warm-water pool and fitness room.Students may participate in any of the programs offered, including water aerobics, aqua kickbox, aqua tai chi and many more. They also may participate in any classes and open/lap swims.

Students in the paramedic and physician assistant majors in the School of Health Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology are contributing their time and knowledge at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport.

Students from Lumley Aviation Center were invited to get up close and personal Friday with the Goodyear blimp, in town to provide television coverage for the Little League World Series. One of the Goodyear maintenance technicians walked with the students around the airship while explainingdetails of blimp construction and maintenance.

Based on their high academic achievements, six freshmen are the first to have been accepted into the new honors program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Students from a catering class in the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology will prepare food for the public at the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Sept. 10. According to Chef Michael J. Ditchfield, instructor of food and hospitality management/culinary arts, the students will create a menu for the event based on the products available at the market.

Seven students enrolled for the Fall 2005 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been honored as "Presidential Scholars" for academic excellence and service to their respective schools and communities. In addition, three adults who are returning to the classroom have been selected as "Penn College Scholars" for their achievements.

While earning credit toward their degrees, two Pennsylvania College of Technology students recently helped Clinton County teens prepare for the world of work.
