The Mary Beth Saar Memorial Scholarship, intended to meet emergency needs of eligible Penn College students, is now fully endowed and will be available for awards beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.

Mayer, assistant professor of baking and pastry arts/culinary arts. Caleb G. Schirmer, of Sugarloaf, a technology management major at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been chosen as the February Student of the Month. Students in hospitality majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology will display their wedding cake creations on March 3 in the college’s Thompson Professional Development Center. This year’s theme for the cakes is “Love Songs.” The students spend weeks decorating their fondant-covered cakes for a competition that will be judged by industry professionals.
