More than two dozen professionals recently gathered at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Plastics Innovation & Resource Center to learn about rotational molding from some of the most knowledgeable practitioners in the business.

A local couple has recognized the excellence of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s plastics program with a new scholarship. Established by Ed and Linda Alberts, the Alberts Family Scholarship will benefit students enrolled in the plastics and polymer engineering technology bachelor-degree major and the plastics and polymer technology associate-degree program.

A plastics and polymer engineering technology graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology has been honored for devoting his time and talent to a project enhancing access to clean water in developing countries. Jason C. Gross, of Williston, Vermont, received the Alumni Humanitarian Award at Penn College’s winter commencement ceremonies held Dec. 19 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport.

PCN Tim Weston, associate professor of plastics and polymer technology, is scheduled to be one of the guests on "PMA Perspective” at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on PCN, the Pennsylvania Cable Network. “PMA Perspective” is produced by the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association and examines business, government and politics.

With support from the National Science Foundation, the number of Tech Scholars at Pennsylvania College of Technology continues to grow. Eight new students in STEM majors have been awarded scholarships of up to $10,000 per year for a maximum of four years.
