John and Lenore Penfield have established a scholarship that will benefit Pennsylvania College of Technology students enrolled in dental hygiene and landscape/horticulture majors. John Penfield is a 1975 graduate of Penn College predecessor Williamsport Area Community College, having earned a degree in nursery management.

Friends and family of John J. Messer, a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member who fought a courageous battle against brain cancer, have established a scholarship fund in his memory. Messer, who taught in Penn College’s web and interactive media major, died Jan. 5 – barely two weeks before his 50th birthday.

Doyle, professor emeritus of history and a former administrator at the college. An equipment loan from an Allegheny County-based company will provide Pennsylvania College of Technology students with a state-of-the-art learning tool through the middle of the Spring 2015 semester.

Frontier Communications has contributed $5,000 to two Pennsylvania College of Technology initiatives that benefit high school students. The company's contribution, delivered by Jennifer Sherwood, a Frontier enterprise account executive, was made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program in support of the college’s SMART Girls and Penn College NOW programs.

The Centennial Legacy Celebration, recognizing the donors who help further Penn College's mission – and showcasing the talented students in the School of Business & Hospitality – was held Saturday evening in the Hager Lifelong Education Center. Attendees including alumni, current and retired employees, and other friends and supporters enjoyed such treats as mashed sweet potatoes, a selection of "sliders" and a choice of desserts from the college's fine-dining restaurant.

Jeff Erdly, CEO of Masonry Preservation Services Inc. and a 1972 engineering drafting graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology predecessor Williamsport Area Community College, has endowed a second scholarship at the college.
