The naming of two instructional labs at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center heightens the visibility of a corporate partner’s enduring behind-the-scenes investment in the next generation of industry leaders.

The job market for the Class of 2023 is expected to be a robust one. Employer participation at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s recent Spring Career Fair reflected that positive projection. More than 230 companies, offering thousands of jobs and internships in an array of fields, met with 1,127 students throughout the daylong event, split between the college’s Bardo Gymnasium and Field House.

Wednesday was "Groff Day" at Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center, where about 50 diesel technology students benefited from three learning sessions – along with enjoying a pizza lunch and a slew of giveaways. The day was made possible by Groff Tractor & Equipment, which sent four employees to the Allenwood-area campus to meet with students in advance of this month's Career Fair.

First Citizens Community Bank has donated $5,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology to benefit a program enabling high school students to take courses for college credit at no cost. The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.

A global technology company is supporting Pennsylvania College of Technology by providing students with access to valuable industrial robot software. ABB Robotics, a leading robotics and machine automation supplier, has donated its RobotStudio software, valued at over $400,000. The software supports student learning within the School of Engineering Technologies.

Students from 11 schools in the Philadelphia region will benefit from a Pennsylvania College of Technology scholarship created by The Howley Foundation, which seeks to ensure that students, regardless of economic means, receive a high-quality education.  The scholarship is expected to provide more than $3 million in funding to qualified students over the first 10 years of the program.

Automation and electronics students at Pennsylvania College of Technology have a valuable new tool at their disposal, thanks to a partnership with a renowned industrial software provider. Canary, a Corporate Tomorrow Maker, has donated its Historian time-series database for industrial automation.

The EQT Foundation – the philanthropic extension of EQT Corp., the nation’s largest producer of natural gas – is providing a second year of support to help Pennsylvania College of Technology address the national skills shortage and overcome the misconception of “dirty jobs” in technical fields.

A $134,000 gift from The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation of Harrisburg has increased the foundation’s total scholarship support to Pennsylvania College of Technology students to more than $3.7 million. Student recipients who meet selection criteria established by the college receive $5,000 per year – for up to four years – from the Stabler Scholarship Fund, the largest at the college.

Before starting her final semester this past week, Lauryn A. Stauffer returned to Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School while on holiday break as part of the "Rep Penn College" program coordinated by the Admissions Office. Under the initiative, begun during the 2021-22 academic year, students are provided training and supplies to take on the road for potential recruitment of future Wildcats.
