A $134,000 gift from The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation of Harrisburg has increased the foundation’s total scholarship support to Pennsylvania College of Technology students to more than $3.7 million. Student recipients who meet selection criteria established by the college receive $5,000 per year – for up to four years – from the Stabler Scholarship Fund, the largest at the college.

Before starting her final semester this past week, Lauryn A. Stauffer returned to Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School while on holiday break as part of the "Rep Penn College" program coordinated by the Admissions Office. Under the initiative, begun during the 2021-22 academic year, students are provided training and supplies to take on the road for potential recruitment of future Wildcats.

A global manufacturing company’s generosity will enhance the hands-on education of Pennsylvania College of Technology students. Advanced Metallurgical Group recently donated more than $25,000 worth of industrial items – including gears, bearings, solenoids and air control valves – to benefit Penn College’s School of Engineering Technologies.

The Community Arts Center has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Williamsport Lycoming Community Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. The funds will go toward an architectural decorative arts restoration project planned at the downtown cultural facility.

Pennsylvania College of Technology automation students will benefit from a recent partnership with a European software company. Clarify, based in Norway, is donating access to its cloud-based system for visualizing industrial data. The system will be used by students seeking a bachelor’s degree in automation engineering technology: robotics & automation.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students seeking degrees related to electrical technology will benefit from the generosity of the world leader in compact, professional electronic test tools. Fluke Corp. recently donated eight MDA-550 III motor drive analyzers for the college’s Machine Analysis Lab.

As the commonwealth celebrates anew the breadth of its agriculture heritage, representatives of Pennsylvania College of Technology will again be on hand to epitomize those who have helped the industry thrive for centuries. Students and employees will represent the college at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg from Jan.

Kelly Generator & Equipment Inc., a leader in the power generation industry, has donated a generator for use at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center.

Writer/video producer Tom Speicher, author of “A Week With Waffles,” traveled to Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 21 for another appearance on WBRE’s “PA live!” with co-host Rachel Malak. "This book ... teaches kids the days of the week and, at the same time, each page encourages creative thought in kids.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented Anthony J. Peachey with the Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award at its Fall 2022 Commencement ceremonies, held Dec. 17 at the Community Arts Center. Peachey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration: marketing concentration from Penn College in 2009, graduating summa cum laude.
