A new Bachelor of Architecture degree at Pennsylvania College of Technology, set to begin accepting students in Fall 2023 (and possibly sooner), will dramatically shorten graduates’ path to professional licensure and markedly broaden their employment opportunities.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and the members of the Penn College Education Association – comprising full-time teaching faculty, librarians and counselors at the college – have agreed on a new contract that will run through the 2026-27 academic year.

Robert Schell Ulrich, who retired in May 1996 from the English faculty at Penn College, died Jan. 31 at the age of 91. In addition to his teaching career at both the high school and postsecondary levels, he earned an associate degree in computer science from Williamsport Area Community College, a predecessor institution.

Chef Shawn L. Hanlin has been named executive chef of Le Jeune Chef Restaurant at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Hanlin, who began his duties Jan. 4, comes to Penn College with 40 years of experience in the culinary field – 12 of them in culinary education.

The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering its resources to help current and future college students and their families complete the 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Colleges and universities require the FAFSA to determine student eligibility for federal and state grants, federal loans, and some scholarships.

Novatec Inc., the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of resin drying and conveying equipment for the plastics industry, has renewed its entrustment agreement with Pennsylvania College of Technology for equipment used in plastics and polymer-related instruction at the college.
