A return appearance by one of the most popular performers on the exhibition circuit helped propel the Penn College Foundation’s 32nd Annual Golf Classic into the record books. The recent event, headlined for the second consecutive time by golf entertainer Dan Boever, was the most successful in its history – topping $100,000 in scholarship support.

"Poured in Pennsylvania," a documentary that explores the commonwealth's thriving craft beer industry, will be screened Friday, July 27 – the eve of The Billtown Brewfest in downtown Williamsport. The Community Arts Center presents its 25th Anniversary Season, which begins July 1. Nearly 1.5 million guests have enjoyed events at the downtown venue since its spectacular reopening in 1993, and millions more are on the way. Thursday’s 35th annual God, Country and Community Flag March traveled from nearby Nichols Place to the base of the 60-by-30-foot "Old Glory" gently waving in the pre-summer breeze above Penn College’s main entrance.

Virtuoso guitarist Benise, a self-taught street performer who has traveled to venues around the world, will appear at the Community Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22. In advance of that engagement, "The Prince of Spanish Guitar" will be featured this month in his fourth PBS special. "Fuego! – Spirit of Spain" will premiere at 8 p.m.

The Community Arts Center, in collaboration with Lycoming College, will present the 2018 Student Summer Stock production of "Man of La Mancha" from July 27-29. Inspired by "Don Quixote," Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterpiece, the Tony Award winner is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history.

The Gallery at Penn College filled with around 200 guests on Sunday, celebrating the opening reception of the Regional Juried Exhibition 2018. Forty of the 51 artists featured in the exhibit attended the reception, along with “an incredible outpouring of support from friends, family and art patrons,” according to Gallery Director Penny Griffin Lutz.

A celebration of the diversity and quality of regional art will be hosted by The Gallery at Penn College with its Regional Juried Exhibition 2018, set for May 29 through July 27. Showcasing 63 creative pieces by 51 artists representing 35 Pennsylvania cities and towns, the exhibition includes a reception set for Sunday, June 3, from 2 to 5 p.m.
