Construction Specialties, a New Jersey-based building products manufacturer with four local operations in eastern Lycoming County, has appreciably broadened its collaboration with Pennsylvania College of Technology. The company, a participant in Penn College’s Corporate Tomorrow Makers program, has established an endowed scholarship and sponsored three Pre-College Programs this past summer.

Naming of the Allan Myers Field Site within Pennsylvania College of Technology’s designated area for heavy equipment and diesel instruction – a 125-acre “sandbox” where students can learn and safely practice the hands-on skills necessary for workplace proficiency – amplifies the company’s 30-year record of encouraging students and hiring graduates.

Two of the three finalists for "Intern of the Year" at this month's seventh annual Young Professionals Awards ceremony at Lackawanna County's PNC Field – including the ultimate winner – are Pennsylvania College of Technology students. Pennsylvania College of Technology manufacturing students will benefit from a Corporate Tomorrow Maker’s latest donation. TRAK Machine Tools, a subsidiary of Southwestern Industries Inc. and the market leader in computer-numerical-control technology for small-lot machining, is equipping the college with a TRAK TMC5 mill and a TRAK 1630RX lathe.
