Automation students at Pennsylvania College of Technology are benefiting from a partnership with a leading innovator in the industrial software market. Inductive Automation has provided multiple licenses of its Ignition software for use at the college. Ignition is a platform for quickly building and developing industrial applications, including SCADA, HMI and IIoT. The value of the donation is over $750,000.

A dedicated group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students demonstrated their passion for engineering by attending the IEEE Region 1 & Region 2 Student Activities Conference at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Rupert, of Danville, is one of six students in North America to receive the PACK EXPO scholarship from the PMMI Foundation of the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

The Bihler 4 Slide-NC is a high-tech metal stamping and forming center entrusted to the college for two years by Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik and Bihler of America Inc.

As an assistant professor and department head, Ken J. Kinley looks forward to the slew of senior projects presented by electronics and automation students each spring at Pennsylvania College of Technology. This year, he identified two projects that stood out among the seniors’ outstanding work: a home control system developed by Austin N.
