Construction management students at Pennsylvania College of Technology have a new scholarship fund to turn to for financial assistance. A team of construction management students from Pennsylvania College of Technology placed first at a recent regional competition in New Jersey, winning $2,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to the national level in Texas. The team one of three six-member groups to represent Penn College at the Nov.

Two replica Viking sleds built by students at Minersville Area High School will be displayed for the public on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus from Nov. 6-21. Twenty-two Minersville Area High School students drafted and built the sleds during the 2005-06 school year as part of their senior project. They were led by project mentors Fred Lukus and Ned Eisenhuth.

Dennis R. Dorward, an associate professor of building construction management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently earned a doctorate from the Indiana State University. Dorward, whose research was in construction project scheduling, was awarded a Ph.D. in technology management with a construction management specialization.

Construction management students from Pennsylvania College of Technology and their award-winning faculty adviser recently returned home from national competition with heads and three trophies held high. The students attended the Associated Builders and Contractors' 2006 Student Construction Management Competition March 15-19 in Las Vegas.

A Maryland firm aims to assist construction management students at Pennsylvania College of Technology through a newly established scholarship fund. The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. of Baltimore recently finalized the agreement for the scholarship at Penn College.
