Several Penn College departments visited the STEM Fair at Park Forest Middle School in State College on March 16. The fair provides an opportunity for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students to engage in activities and presentations that convey that science, technology, engineering and math are viable and real career paths they can take.

The Construction Management Association held its annual Hog Bash on Thursday, serving up a free meal of pulled-pork sandwiches, cole slaw, chips, soda and bottled water to an appreciative Field House assembly. Seven members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Construction Management Association representing the smallest institution among the 23 colleges and universities at the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. national competition in San Diego recently returned with four awards including Student Chapter of Excellence honors.

Eric J. Schall, a graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School, and Leonard C. Nicholas, a graduate of Abington High School, have been named Penn College's "co-Student-Athletes of the Week" for Oct. 5-12. Schall is a sophomore plastics and polymer engineering technology major and Nicholas a senior construction management major.

Kaitlyn M. Charmbury, a residential construction management: architectural technology student from State College, has been chosen as September's Student Government Association "Student of the Month" at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented Mentorship Awards to two Baltimore-based companies and their representatives: Karl Quinn/Alban Tractor Co. Inc. and David A. Potts/ The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. The Mentorship Award recognizes alumni and/or businesses that have made significant or ongoing contributions to the education and development of Penn College students.
