The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League has announced its newest state event venue at Pennsylvania College of Technology's Schneebeli Earth Science Center. Featuring 400-plus acres of scenic surroundings, the site will host PICL's Sept. 7-8 competition that brings together student-athletes from across the state to compete in a dynamic showcase of endurance, skill and sportsmanship.

For the seventh year in a row, UPMC will be the Performance Series sponsor for the Community Arts Center’s new season. A consistent supporter of the cultural venue in downtown Williamsport, UPMC has played an integral role in bringing arts and entertainment to the region. “The CAC plays a large role in supporting the vibrant arts community in the region,” said Kari Kurtz, director of community relations, UPMC in North Central Pa.

Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Matthew D. Bradford (D-Norristown) visited Pennsylvania College of Technology on Saturday, enjoying a main campus tour prior to taking in the U.S. championship game at the Little League Baseball World Series with his family.

Ellyn A. Lester, assistant dean of construction and architectural technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been named to The 2024 Trailblazers in Building & Infrastructure list, released Monday by City & State PA. “Meet the people helping us work, get around and live better,” the announcement reads. Beau M. Lazzo, a 2017 Penn College construction management graduate, is also included on the list.

Fifteen Pennsylvania College of Technology paramedic students are part of the health care team at the 2024 Little League Baseball World Series. The students work under the guidance of certified paramedics from Susquehanna Regional Emergency Medical Services, who are on hand in the stadiums to provide for the emergency health needs of spectators at the nationally televised youth sports event, which began Aug. 14 and concludes Aug. 25.

For the second time this week, a chairman of the Pennsylvania House Education Committee visited Pennsylvania College of Technology to learn more about the impressive developments occurring at the institution’s main campus, Lumley Aviation Center and Schneebeli Earth Science Center. State Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford), who serves as the committee’s Republican chair, received a tour of several instructional areas and also enjoyed a stop at the Little League Baseball World Series complex.
