Ten students graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology North Campus Outreach Practical Nursing Program on Thursday, Dec. 18. The ceremony was held at Wellsboro Area High School with a reception for family and friends afterward. The students selected Amanda Wyble, LPN, a staff nurse at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital and alumna of the program, as speaker for the ceremony.

Twenty-two student-athletes were named Pennsylvania College of Technology Wildcat Athletes of the Week during the fall semester. One interesting facet of life is how many times things come full circle. A small example was the Dec. 14 Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s home basketball games against Lycoming College.

And then there were three. Chef Charles R. Niedermyer II, an instructor of baking and pastry arts/culinary arts at Penn College, will compete in Providence, Rhode Island, in March for a spot on the American team at the 2016 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Winter Commencement on Saturday at Williamsport's Community Arts Center, honoring Fall 2014 graduates  and ringing down the curtain on a yearlong 100th-anniversary celebration.

State Sen. Gene Yaw was presented with a Centennial Leadership Award during Winter Commencement for Pennsylvania College of Technology, which is celebrating its Centennial throughout 2014. Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour bestowed the surprise award upon Yaw during the ceremony, which was held at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport.
