A Science Festival at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Thursday, March 19, will provide a variety of fun math and science demonstrations for local children and their families. The event, scheduled from 4:30-7:30 p.m. in the Penn College Field House, is sponsored by the college and the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce.
A Pennsylvania College of Technology professor served as a judge for the regional Governor’s PA STEM Competition held recently on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. David S. Richards, professor of physics, was one of four judges for the high school competition coordinated regionally by BLaST Intermediate Unit 17.
Anderson Equipment Co. Heavy construction equipment technology students at Pennsylvania College of Technology are benefiting from the ongoing generosity of the Anderson Equipment Co., which supplemented a recent equipment loan with the donation of an engine and other machine components.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling teams closed out their seasons this past week. In basketball on Saturday at Bryn Athyn, the women won, 72-64, to complete a 13-12 overall season, 12-8 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference; and the men lost, 74-71, to end 3-22 overall and 2-16 in the NEAC.

Local theater company to present "Raisin in the Sun" "Dear White People" The Williamsport Black Repertory Theater will present "Raisin in the Sun," Lorraine Hansberry's acclaimed 1959 play about the clashing dreams within a Chicago family, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium.

Carol A. Lugg has been named assistant dean for the School of Construction & Design Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Lugg most recently was director of the Office of Transfer Initiatives, smoothing incoming students’ pathways to bachelor’s degrees and furthering articulation agreements with two-year institutions in majors that dovetail with Penn College’s academic offerings.
