Two teams of Penn College students and their faculty supporters are in Las Vegas this week for the National Association of Home Builders' Student Chapters Residential Construction Management Competition, sponsored by Centex and held in conjunction with the association's International Builders Show at Caesars Palace.

The Weatherization Training Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology held its first Building Performance Institute training and certification event during the week of Jan. 12. Weatherization staff representing the Central Community Action Program, SEDA-COG, STEP Inc. and the Westmoreland County Weatherization Program participated in the four-day event.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Residence Life Office announces its top students and programs for November/December. Resident Assistants of the Month Honored as Resident Assistants of the Month were second-year RAs Anthony R. Grubbs, of Irwin, from The Village at Penn College, and Alesha S. Frazier, of Tipton, from Campus View Apartments.

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded $243,095 for the 2008-09 academic year to the TRIO Student Support Services program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Grant monies will be used to provide individualized academic support to 160 Penn College students.

The new residence hall to be constructed on the west end of Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus will be named Dauphin Hall, and the entire complex within which it will be situated encompassing Rose Street Apartments and College West Apartments will be known as Rose Street Commons, the college administration has announced.

Penn College is well-represented on a number of fronts at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, under way through Saturday in Harrisburg. Gamma Epsilon Tau, a co-ed graphic communications and graphic design fraternity,welcomed seven new members on Dec. 9: Barbara Andreassen and Tim Miller (not pictured), Megan Pennington, Ashlyn Hershberger, Alison Beitz, Stacey Rupp and Chelsea Sanders. The new members each received an official membership certificate, along with a wallet card and fraternity T-shirt.
