Girl Scout Daisy Troop 60238, a new troop in the Williamsport area, recently helped to fill one of The Cupboard’s satellite sites.

The Cupboard, which has a main facility in the Bush Campus Center, is a food pantry for Penn College students experiencing food insecurity. It has six satellite “mini cupboards” strategically located on main campus, at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center and at the Lumley Aviation Center.

Daisy Troops are for Girl Scouts in kindergarten and first grade.

“They’re working on ways they can help their community so they can earn their first daisy petal badge,” explained Alicia C. Dobbs, a parent of a Daisy and volunteer with the troop, and an assistant child care provider for the college’s Dunham Children’s Learning Center. “During their Monday night meeting, each girl and her family brought donations for the campus cupboard!”

The mini cupboard in the Hager Lifelong Education Center – near the Children’s Learning Center – was stocked with the troop’s donations early Wednesday morning.

“We are super happy to contribute to The Cupboard!” Dobbs said.

Donations to The Cupboard can be dropped off at Wildcat Express or coordinated by emailing thecupboard@pct.edu.
