Penn College prof highlighted on Little League’s website

Stephen R. Cheskiewicz, associate professor of computer information technology at Penn College, is featured on Little League International’s website as the organization’s September Diamond Leader of the Month. Cheskiewicz is a board member of the Wyoming Valley Challenger Baseball Little League in Wilkes-Barre. Earlier this summer, Wyoming Valley participated in the Challenger Division Exhibition Game at the Little League World Series.

The Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program for players with physical or intellectual disabilities.
In the web feature, Cheskiewicz discusses his passion for the Challenger Division and the value of the Little League Diamond Leader Training Program. The initiative is a free educational resource that provides Little League volunteers with a better understanding of the impact they have on the social and emotional well-being of players. The course navigates the volunteers through real-life scenarios that are being faced in local leagues worldwide.
