On Monday evening, Ellyn A. Lester, assistant dean of construction & architectural technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology, appeared on WVIA-TV’s “Women Building the Future,” an episode of the “Keystone Edition: Business” program, a public affairs program addressing issues in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.
The 27-minute piece focused on worker shortages in critical areas, including plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation & air conditioning, and how women are stepping in to fill the roles and emerging as industry leaders.
Lester joined a panel of experts, sharing their perspectives and inspiration. She addressed the critical element of mentorship, different pathways in the construction and architecture fields, and the ways Penn College reaches out to K-12 students and educators.
