Pennsylvania College of Technology's emergency management & homeland security major and its outreach to assist people with disabilities and emergency responders in Lycoming County was featured in a report on WNEP-TV Wednesday evening.
WNEP-TV's Mackenzie Aucker interviewed Kayla Webb, a senior in the major, and Penn College instructor David E. Bjorkman, to learn about their collaboration with Roads to Freedom Center for Independent Living and the Lycoming County Emergency Management Agency. The organizations have teamed up to create a Functional and Access Needs Survey, offering residents the opportunity to self identify any special needs that can advise first responders before arriving at an emergency call.

Webb has been developing the survey as part of her internship with Roads to Freedom, a local nonprofit organization providing resources to empower individuals with disabilities. The confidential survey is active, and once data is collected, it will be mapped into a geographic information system platform to support the Lycoming County 911 Center and EMA.
The broadcast Wednesday also featured Jon W. Mackey, a 2023 emergency management & homeland security graduate who is Lycoming County's emergency management planning specialist.
