The U.S.-based electrical products business of global industrial manufacturing company Siemens has recognized Pennsylvania College of Technology by donating equipment for student use.
Siemens Smart Infrastructure provided 21 125-amperes load centers containing a variety of circuit breakers. The donation benefits students seeking an associate degree in electrical construction or electrical technology.
Thomas A. Romine, a building automation engineering technology student from Carlisle, works on one of the load centers donated to Pennsylvania College of Technology by Siemens Smart Infrastructure. The company provided the college with 21 125-amperes load centers containing a variety of circuit breakers.
“Many of the breakers are either arc-fault circuit interrupters or ground-fault circuit interrupters, both of which are becoming more widely used in new installations, per the National Electrical Code requirements,” said Art L. Counterman, instructor of electrical technology/occupations.
“The load centers will be used to replace our existing older units, and students will now have exposure to the newer-style circuit breakers.”
Approximately 80 students will have access to the load centers during the academic year.
