Pennsylvania College of Technology became an affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University in 1989. Prior to the affiliation, it was known as Williamsport Area Community College (1965–89) and Williamsport Technical Institute (1941–65). Programming was first offered on the campus site in 1914, under the auspices of the local school district. View the College's history.
Today, Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State, committed to applied technology education. More than 4,500 students are enrolled across a diverse lineup of majors from master’s and bachelor’s to associate degrees and certificates.
