Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $15,000 grant by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to support its mission of preventing underage and high-risk alcohol use by students. The college will use the grant to fund its ongoing underage and dangerous alcohol consumption education efforts, said Carl L. Shaner, College Health Services director and grant coordinator.

Fifteen Pennsylvania College of Technology students, joined by a Student Activities staff member and an organizational adviser, participated in the Martin Luther King Service Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 14. The event kicked off in Penn’s Inn at 9 a.m. with a light breakfast, sharing of the day's purpose and a group activity.

The Marcellus Shale Education & Training Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a Shell Bluebook Orientation noncredit course. The MSETC is an authorized provider for the training, which is presented at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college's main campus in Williamsport and at the college's North Campus near Wellsboro.

About 70 students attended the first "WEB Late Night" event of the Spring 2012 semester, a Friday evening of fun and games sponsored by the Wildcat Events Board. The exhibit will continue through Feb. 22 on the third floor of Madigan Library; hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays, 2-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays (closed Saturdays and Mondays).
