From the Winter 2013 One College Avenue: Scholarship awards funded by the Penn College Foundation rose from $371,743 in 2011-12 to $400,646 in 2012-13 – an increase of 8 percent. Qualified individuals who need help preparing and filing their 2012 returns can visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The free service is available through early April in the Teachers’ Learning Center of the Madigan Library (Room LIB/213) on Penn College’s main campus in Williamsport. Required appointments will be scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Jolene T. and Jason A. Furl, area natives and graduates of Pennsylvania College of Technology, revisited their alma mater Feb. 16-17 as the reigning “Alumni Sweethearts.” The couple, married for eight years and now residing in Gambrills, Md., were treated to dinner at the college’s fine dining restaurant, Le Jeune Chef, and an overnight stay in The Victorian House, also on campus.
