With spring just around the corner, the Fulbright Scholar Program announces Thursday's opening of its 2008-09 award competition. The application deadline for the traditional Fulbright Scholar program is Aug. 1.

Patrice M. Campbell, a business administration-marketing major from Montoursville, has been chosen as the Student Government Association's "Student of the Month" for February.
Over the past 15 years, Penn College has been a place where students and local residents can train in Shotokan Karate. Under the instruction of George Vance, a sixth-degree black belt, students learn the basic principles of self-defense. This class offers training to everyonewho has a desire to learn karate. Trainings are held in the Field House on the second-floor mezzanine from 7-8:30 p.m.
Ben Crago, a certified STIHL trainer, used the ESC Industry Room from Feb. 20-22 to conduct training courses for local dealer representatives in exchange forinstructing the college's forestry and ornamental horticulture students on equipment safety and maintenance. Such training truly benefits Penn College students and, most likely, will reduce the risk of injuries.
Paula Meyer, human resources director for Churchill Downs, came to campus Feb. 22-23 to interview students in the School of Hospitality. She offered a presentation to the students on Thursday evening.
