The American Red Cross and Student Health Services were "very proud of the Penn College community"for the response at Wednesday's Bloodmobile in the Bush Campus Center, where 177 pints were collected exceeding the 130-pint goal. There were 63 first-time donors, and every pint goes toward saving another life. This drive certainly will help during this time of low blood supplies across the region.

Fresh from aiding television coverage of the Little League Baseball World Series, the Goodyear Blimp was opened to students at the Lumley Aviation Center including thesemembers ofWilliam P. "Scott" Welch's AVC181 (Engine Electrical) class. Students were treated to a close-up look at the Spirit of Goodyear and talked with the crew about following the iconic airship around the country.

An official attendance of 2,894 fans were in the stands of Historic Bowman Field for Thursday's Penn College "Pack the Park Night." The Crosscutters, Williamsport's own minor league baseball team and affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, delivered a 5-1 victory over the Jamestown Jammers.

David S. Richards, associate professor of physics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, gave a talk at the spring conference of the American Association of Physics Teachers (Central Pennsylvania Section). His presentation was titled "Tablet PC Technology Within a Traditional Classroom Environment." The conference was held at Penn State York.

In an effort to provide more timely service and better meet students' needs, the Tutoring Center has established a new English tutoring policy for the new academic year. Beginning immediately, English tutors will limit their sessions to one hour per day.

Mark A. Paternostro, associate vice president for academic services at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was recently nominated for inclusion in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers and Educators" for the fourth consecutive year. His biography will appear in the 11th edition of the book, which honors teachers who have been nominated by former students.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Object and Figure," an exhibit of paintings by Jason Godeke, from Sept. 9 to Oct. 2. An opening reception for the exhibit will take place Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with a gallery talk scheduled at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday's 'Wildcat House Party' offered students a playful blend of food, music and giveaways to soften the rigors of the opening week of Fall 2007 classes.
