PCToday continues its regular feature welcoming new full-time and regular part-time Pennsylvania College of Technology employees, as reported by the Human Resources Office. Over the past decade, Pennsylvania College of Technology's golf team has established itself as one of the best in the country among non-NCAA colleges. Six consecutive conference championships, a 166-1-1 record in its last 168 matches and a national championship back that up.

Penn College's welding department has taken up residence at 401 Eureka Place, in the eastern side of the city, for 2009-10. The site accommodates laboratory equipment, classrooms and faculty offices while the Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades Center undergoes renovation. The department plans to move back to its renovated space on main campus by Fall 2010.

Evan Summer, whose collection is featured in The Gallery at Penn College through Sept. 27, offered a lecture and informal remarks (as well as participating in an afternoon public-radio interview) in conjunction with the show's Tuesday opening. The artist also attended a reception for "Prints, Drawings and Collages" in the gallery, where all exhibits are free and open to the public.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology professor recently published an essay and assumed the presidency of an international literature organization. Mark D. Noe, professor of English-composition, published an essay in the Summer 2009 issue of ANQ: A Quarterly Journal of Short Articles, Notes, and Reviews.
