The Penn College Wildcat baseball team's handling of the field tarp for Sunday's nationally televised MLB Little League Classic is featured in a report on Philadelphia's WHYY-FM public radio station. Coach Chris Howard and his team were recruited for field duty for the major league game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals, played in BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

When the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates square off Aug. 20 in the MLB Little League Classic, there will be a few familiar faces at the nationally televised event. Approximately 20 Penn College baseball players and head coach Chris Howard will be responsible for the field tarp in case of inclement weather at the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game.

Pennsylvania College of Technology President Davie Jane Gilmour has been appointed vice chair of President’s Council for the North Eastern Athletic Conference. A dozen of Penn College’s athletic teams compete in the NEAC, and Gilmour’s work with the council has included service on its committees for strategic planning and sportsmanship.
