Ten students representing six campus organizations have been voted onto the 2012 Penn College Homecoming court, with balloting continuing this week to determine who is designated as the ultimate royalty. The top five male and female students have advanced from an original field of 41 on the basis of donations to their respective canisters at the Bush Campus Center information desk.

Continuing a tradition of Penn College students leaving their lasting mark on campus, instructor Franklin H. Reber Jr.'s concrete construction class this week poured new sidewalks near the Hager Lifelong Education Center entrance off West Third Street.

Students ham it up during the fun, community-building break from campus and homework. The School of Health Sciences Living/Learning Community is well under way again this academic year.

A member of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation Board of Directors and his wife have created a scholarship at the college. Ray Mattie, a 1984 alumnus, and his wife, Michelle, established the Mattie Family Scholarship at Penn College.

Students' library display honors surgical technologists. Gathering in celebration The surgical technology program in Penn College’s School of Health Sciences celebrated National Surgical Technologist Week – Sept. 16-21 – by setting up an educational display on the ground floor of the Madigan Library and sharing a celebratory lunch. Surgical technologists are vital members of the surgical team.

Tara M. Powell Outside hitter Tara M. Powell, of Burgettstown, was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16.  In four games, Powell racked up 35 kills and 37 digs for the Wildcats.
