The leading technical society for the plastics industry has recognized three Pennsylvania College of Technology students as part of its 2017 scholarship program. Plastics and polymer engineering technology students Rebecca J. Brown, of Conneaut Lake; Heather C. Fennell, of Hawley; and Nicholas C. Moore, of Lock Haven, received scholarships from the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students regularly apply their skills to help others – even before graduation. That’s the case with Shakeem J. Thomas, an emergency management technology student from Brooklyn, New York, who’s lending a hand in the nearby Queens neighborhood of Broad Channel where residents are still recovering – five years later – from Hurricane Sandy.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students have received two of the six $5,000 national scholarships awarded this year by the Oil and Energy Service Professionals and its co-sponsors. Penn College winners are Thomas E. Daros Jr., of North Salem, New York – now a three-time recipient – and Garth J. Reish, of Millheim.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology plastics student has added to his impressive list of national scholarships. The Society of Plastics Engineers recently announced that Logan A. Tate, of Williamsport, is the recipient of several scholarships for 2017. The plastics and polymer engineering technology major has been honored with the Blow Molding Division W.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s surgical technology major is joining hospitals and colleges throughout the country in celebrating National Surgical Technologists Week, Sept. 17-23. National Surgical Technologists Week is a promotional event of the Association of Surgical Technologists to celebrate those who work in the field.
