Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Exercise Science Club has developed a unique fundraiser that allows students to gain further hands-on experience while providing employees of Penn College and other local schools with information they can use to achieve their fitness goals.

With a pink cake that was adorned with roses and pearls, student Jacqueline R. Dull, of Mohnton, received first place in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s annual wedding cake competition. Dull is a sophomore in the college’s baking and pastry arts major. She and the other competitors are enrolled in the Cake Decorating II course, taught by Chef Todd M.

Lying for hours in a cut cornfield waiting for unsuspecting waterfowl to become inviting prey gives a person plenty of time to think. Granted, the brown remnants of the fall’s harvest and gray morning sky aren’t typical ingredients for inspiration. But for Anthony P. Wagner, the setting was the birthplace of a dream.

Twenty-eight Pennsylvania College of Technology students and 11 graduates have been selected to help prepare and serve food in the high-end venues of Churchill Downs during the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby on May 5.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Student Nurses’ Association raised nearly $1,500 for the American Cancer Society on March 29 when it hosted its first “Glow Walk.” The group surpassed its goal of $1,000 for the first-year effort. Despite damp weather, walkers looped the campus mall as the sun set, wearing glow necklaces and glasses provided by the American Cancer Society.

The expo is the premier electrical trade show in Central Pennsylvania, with more than 100 booths from prominent manufacturers.

Darkness envelops the college. The campus mall is quiet and still. It’s the middle of the week and nearly 1 o’clock in the morning. Most of the Pennsylvania College of Technology community will be asleep for several more hours, recharging for another productive day. But a couple electronics majors are wide awake. Their windowless lab is bright and buzzing with activity.
